Evangelist Finu has been ministering in the nation of Trinidad & Tobago regularly since February 2008. Although he initially went only to speak at a few churches, the Lord has been granting the ministry favor in the nation and many opportunities opened up for the preaching of the gospel to the unsaved. Trinidad & Tobago is a beautiful nation and the people of the nation are warm, friendly and hospitable. Although there are many churches in the nation, there is a great need for the gospel to be preached to the unsaved.
Starting in June of 2008, the Lord began to open doors for evangelistic crusade services in the nation. In the month of April, Passion to Reach Ministries led an initiative to hold a city wide crusade in the southern city of San Fernando. The city of San Fernando is set upon a hill and is the industrial hub of the nation. The Lord directed Evangelist Finu to hold the crusade in that city and about 40 churches from that area partnered together to make this event happen. This was historic because the churches in this area had not united for such an event for almost two decades and it was amazing to see how the Lord moved in the hearts of the leaders to gather them together for this momentous occasion.
As with any Passion to Reach Ministries effort the vision of the event was to win souls into the Kingdom of God. The Local committee under the able leadership of Rev. Krishna Maharaj decided to rent the Manny Ramjohn Stadium for the four nights of the crusade. The undertaking of the event was a great step if faith in many ways, especially financially as the budget was expected to top $200,000 TT ($40,000 CAD). Trusting that the Lord would provide all the arrangements were made towards holding the crusade in the month of April. Passion to Reach Ministries sowed the first few thousand dollars into the event and prayed that the Lord would provide all the necessary funds.
During the four days of the crusade about 8,000 people came out to hear the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. And as always as the gospel was preached the Lord moved mightily in the hearts of the people. Dozens of people gave their lives to the Lord every night and many were healed supernaturally by the Power of the Holy Spirit. Many came forward to testify of how they had been instantly healed of every disease and affliction imaginable. Jesus Christ still performs miracles. But the greatest miracle of all is salvation and it is hard to express the joy which the team experienced as every night young and old, men and women, rich and poor, walked towards the altar to give their lives over to Jesus Christ.
Especially heartwarming was the sight of young men who were making a public declaration of their decision to follow Christ. When we realize that the enemy is using young men to wreak havoc upon the nation of Trinidad by luring them into the entrapments of sin and using them to destroy themselves and each other through drugs, sex, violence, crime, rape etc., one cannot but thank the Lord for His mercy and grace towards them! Oh! How wide and deep and high is the Love of Christ towards us all. As sinful as we all are, he loved us with an unconditional love!
Needless to say the crusade was an immense success. Not only did it impact the community and bring people to salvation and brought healing and restoration to many, it also encouraged the church in the city and brought a renewed sense of unity amongst the pastors and their churches.
Further when the financial report of the crusade was submitted, we realized that the Lord provided for every need that we had had and provided us with even more. He is Jehovah Jireh our provider! Praise Him!
