Evangelist Finu joined Rev. Dr. John McDonald on this trip. Dr. McDonald is a dear friend and ministry partner and he was influential in arranging for us to meet with the local church leaders in the country. You can visit his ministry website at www.countryparsonministries.com
We arrived in Trinidad around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night. Rev. McDonald’s friends Pastor Raj & Betsy Badhal offered us their services while we would be in the country. Pastor Raj picked us up from the airport. Drove us to their home a half hour away, then visited and fed us for a late night get to sleep at 1:00 a.m. Then told us Sun service was at 7 a.m. a half hour from their home. So it was a very early rise to say the least. You will never know what that means until you find this gift of Hospitality and Sacrifice in full bloom as it is in their lives.
The morning service at the church was powerful as Bro. Finu challenged God’s people to make their life count for eternity. After the message Pastor Raj announced special meetings that night and Monday night. In both services the anointing seemed to increase as people sought the Lord for many purposes including salvation, restoration and healing. In fact on the last night 4 newcomers were saved, including an alcoholic and another man who had till then never given his life to Christ even though his wife had been a Christian for years.
Our next two and a half days were spent in Tobago. Now this is a beautiful tourist island just off the coast of Trinidad and part of the same country they call TT. All our new friends were saying now take time to get to the beaches, enjoy a short trip out to the coral reef, and get up to the tower in Scarborough Town. It sounded like they thought we were on a tourist trip. Needless to say we didn’t get to any beach, or reef, or tower. We landed at the airport and were picked up by a Pentecostal Assemblies of the West Indies (PAWI) Pastor at 12:30 who immediately took us to a Pastors Meeting with about 12 pastors present. We presented ourselves and ministries and asked for their support in putting together a Crusade. Their response was immediate, and excited. They then found us accommodation, settled us and then put some other contacts in place for the next day. Our Host Bishop Brebnor and his wife joined us for supper in the evening.
Early then next morning we met one of the local Pastors, Rev Arthur, one of our Canadian contacts, (Roy Ferguson) gave us his name. What a great man of God, he took us to the President of the Open Bible Standard Churches of Tobago, Rev Reid who booked us in to preach that evening at his Church. Pastor Arthur then took us out for lunch and then over to his church.
We had a great service that evening! Their church also hosts the Open Bible Standard Bible College, Tobago branch so we had a lot of the students present in the service as well. Evangelist Finu shraed his testimony and exhorted the people to believe God for the salvation of their Island followed by Dr. McDonald who preached on the things that hinder a move of God. Tobago is blessed with several large churches and is ripe for a harvest of souls.
On Thursday morning we flew back to Trinidad (only 20 minutes by air) and off to an evening service with Pastor Raj in one of the Outpost Congregations he has in his area near San Fernando. Jordan Hills. We continued meeting Pastors and Leaders throughout the Nation and seeking their wisdom and expectations for revival in the land.
Sunday was a great day as we ministered in the Head Church of the New Testament Church of God with Bishop Stephen Mohammed. There were 2 services that morning with great crowds. We had a powerful time as the Word came forth in power and the altars were packed with people seeking His presence. After the service Pastor Stephen invited us to return and hold a week of meetings at his church and offered to accommodate us at his home.
In the evening we travelled 45 minutes to a church deep in the heart of Hindu country in the south of Trinidad off San Fernando called Barakpore. Both Dr. McDonald and Evangelist Finu shared God’s word and about 14 stepped forward to accept Christ in a very clear appeal for first time decisions.
Future plans:
Plans are being made to travel to Trinidad and Tobago in the month of June to hold city wide crusades. Please keep this nations and our services there in your prayers.
